Ad Libitum is the result of the musical and artistic collaboration between Carmen Fernandez and Pablo Amante. With research, experience and studies, it has become a scientific-artistic-musical complex machine, and a musical, literary and philosophic creation project which tries to face the fast, complicated and technologic world of today.
Ad Libitum perceive the world in a fractal way (scale symmetry) where the micro and the macro are linked to the angle from where they are being observed, and where, in a non linear way, every part of the whole can be in touch with another part of itself.
Our music reflects our internal diversity, from western to oriental culture, from folklore to ancient music, also including our rock roots, academic studies and the profound interest and research in sound manipulation through technology and electronics. We aim to have a strong impact on our audiences.
We also firmly believe in the complex relationship that can exist between arts and the senses creating the well known phenomenon called synesthesia (to feel the sound of a perfume, to smell a vision or a color, or to see a sound). The integration and harmonious interaction of everything we are, receive and filtrate, becomes Ad Libitum.
