Jamsons Nook is an acoustic driven funk/folk/latin/afro-beat/hip-hop style collective born out of a love for fusion styles, and uplifting music. It is a unique, and eclectic sound that never fails to get people grooving and shaking, and sits perfectly within the buzz of festivals or intimate cafes.
Jamsons Nook formed in 2003 with Kaz (drums) and Ben (guitar,vocals) joining musical hearts and minds to play songs that would warm their bones. Tim (bass) joined in 2004, Oli (decks,samplers) in 2006, and Jools (violin) jumped on board in 2007. The sound has evolved into a vibrant, energetic style with funk and world music grooves laced with scratching, and fiery fiddle work. The band has played all over the UK, and as far away as New Zealand.
The recently released, self entitled, debut album is drenched in vibrant, hook filled, upbeat songs. Sounding somewhere between the afro-latin pop elements of Talking Heads, and the grooves of Paul Simon's classic Graceland, Jamsons Nook also throw in plenty of funk and folk etched with samples, and scratching throughout the 12 songs.
Jamsons Nook have appeared on the same billing as; the Super Furry Animals, The Enemy, Human League, Ozomatli, Nizlopi, The Egg, The Music, to name a few....
Songs by Jamsons Nook have been played across UK radio stations including London’s XFM, and have been receiving rave reviews from online listening in the US.
