Piergiorgio Lucidi is an Italian Jazz / Blues Guitar Player, whose work is based on these artists: Scott Henderson, Tribal Tech, Robben Ford, Allan Holdsworth, John Scofield, Pat Metheny, Django Reinhardt, Chick Corea, Weather Report.
Born in 1979, he started to play guitar when he was sixteen, and grew up with a rock-blues and soul style as he was influenced by Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Gary Moore, Robben Ford and Scott Henderson.
He then began listening to Robert Johnson, Cole Porter, Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock and Charlie Parker.
After a year of self-teaching himself, he decided to study “Jazz Guitar” and was enrolled in the School of Music in Anagni. Enzo Salvi was his teacher (Banca della Musica Italiana - BMI lead guitarist), who helped him deepen the study of harmony, jazz and jazz/rock music, playing as lead guitarist in various local blues groups at the same time.
He played in the Anagni's blues/soul band "Tell Me Why" and they classified in second position in the young musicians contest in Colleferro in Rome.
In the 1999 he formed a quartet cover band of Weather Report, Chick Corea, Tribal Tech.
In 2003 he joined the Jazz Big Band "I Musicanti di Brema" and played with them for more than one year, under the direction of Bruno Gianetti. During
this period he learnt various techniques revolving around jazz dynamics of the '40s and '50s, playing with some maestros of the “Testaccio Popular School of Music” in Rome.
In 2006 he released his first solo album “JazzMoves” under a Creative Commons License with Beatpick.com.
In December 2006 JazzMoves was released on DVD on RGB Magazine.
In February 2007 JazzMoves became available for shipping on Lulu.com.
On March 2007 Spontaneous was released under Creative Commons License.
