miQue is vocalist/composer Mike Marques' caffeine fueled experimental electro pop project.
Born in Australia, miQue relocated to Paris in 2008 after a 5 year sojourn in Tokyo, where he was involved with a diverse array of artists and collectives as a vocalist, producer and composer.
He collaborations include: performances with Japanese theatre group Sin Titulo , dance ensemble Ju-gong and at the monthly Mode Down , Imagined Communities and Test Tone events in Tokyo.
Taking inspiration from the kitsch to the perverse, miQue infuses his vocals & tightly arranged music with a love of juxtaposing opposites - field recordings, stiletto-esque funk and antique film scores sit cosily alongside scratchy doo wop soul filtered through his poptronic soul bukkake.
Armed with ye old computer, a few microphones, an array of pedals, sampler, keyboard trigger fingers and an aerodynamic voice miQue live is a cabaret of snazzy punkmanship - bringing to mind ..a bygone era of song and dance-men gate crashing an electric hoedown..
Vaatican Records (France) have included several miQue tracks on their various label samplers and released his debut E.P in November, 2006.
miQue's full length album "Le Petite Morte" was co-released by Imagined Records & Scilli Disques (Japan) in April 2007 - distributed by Ultra Vybe
